SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS

Residents are proud supporters of local businesses.  We support Plaza Del Prado, The Glen Town Center, the Downtown District and many others in Glenview.  Many residents who live near business districts have input into new businesses.  However, this situation is different. This is a NEW strip mall on a residential property.  In the age of Amazon, a new retail development is risky. 

Homes are the best use for this property.  There are homes at every intersection on Willow Road in Glenview from Waukegan to Landwehr.  Glenview does not need more retail.  There are vacancies all over town.  If a retail development is permitted, current businesses in Glenview will lose customers.  After Glenview has worked so hard to improve the Downtown District, diluting the customer base is not right.
